Jizzakh State Pedagogical University is 48 years old. If we compare it to the life of a person, it means that he is at a young age full of energy and enthusiasm. The educational institution, considered one of the leading universities in Uzbekistan, was founded in 1974. It was given the name Abdulla Qadiri in 1989. The institute, which started with 5 directions and 6 departments in 2 faculties and 50 professor-teacher teams and 425 students, has become a large scientific center with 13 faculties and 41 departments. According to the decision PD-289 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev dated on 21.06.2022, Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute named after A.Qadiri was granted the status of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. At the moment, the Rector of the University is Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences. prof. Sh.S. Sharipov.

Nowadays, the University has 13 faculties and 41 departments. Number of students: there are 11,044 full-time students of 27 undergraduate courses, 7,086 students of 11 undergraduate courses part-time, and 1,271 graduate students of 20 master’s specialties. Professors: 836 people. During its activities, the university has set itself the goal of preparing qualified pedagogues and scientific staff for the educational system of our region and republic.

They also say that a student who does not live in a dormitory is not a real student. Students hostel of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University has changed radically today. The dormitories, which were in a state of disrepair a few years ago, have now been renovated to an eye-pleasing level. Today, a total of 465 students live in the student hostle with all conditions. Navruz is a holiday of renewal. Navruz, which is considered an ancient spring holiday, is celebrated by young students and professors of the university with great enthusiasm. This holiday, rich in various folk games and unique traditions, is celebrated every year during the month of March. A traditional spring dish – sumalak is boiled in pots, and various sports competitions, talks and contests are held around it. In a word, this holiday can be compared to the student youth festival. In arts and sports…

Various tutorings and clubs have been organized in the institute for young students who appreciate stage life, music and creativity. Jizzakh State Pedagogical University has its own choral group, musical orchestra, “Young Artists” club, and “Ilhom” theater group, student ensemble named after E. Lutfillev. Our door is always open for young people who want to test their talent and achieve success. Students who want to show their skills and interest by participating in various sports competitions must have heard about Universiade sports competitions. The students of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University took part in these competitions among the universities of our country and won many proud places. In 2021, the youth of Uzbekistan finished the Asian Championship with 8 gold medals. Among them, the students of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University Jakhongir Zakirov and Nigina Oktamova are proud of the university team. According to the results of the Asian Youth Championship held in Dubai, two of our sports students Nigina Oktamova and Jahangir Zakirov won the gold medal. We are proud to say that Nigina Oktamova was recognized as the best female boxer at the Asian Youth Championship. At the same time, Nigina Oktamova won the first place in one of the competitions recently held in Kazakhstan, giving us all joy. Of course, this is a motivation for our future student athletes, if it is considered pride for the team we are active in. Another example is Aziza Yaqubova, who won a bronze medal at the World Women’s Boxing Championship held in Turkey. Aziza Yaqubova is a graduate of the Faculty of Physical Culture of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. We are rightfully proud of such students, because she went down in history as the first Uzbek girl to win a medal at the world championships among adults.
