JSPU Launches International IT and Cultural Program in Cooperation with Sejong University

A delegation of 23 students, professors, and teachers from the prestigious Sejong University of the Republic of Korea participated in the ceremonial opening of the “WFK IT Volunteer Group Program.”

Speakers at the opening ceremony particularly emphasized that this international initiative will bring academic and cultural cooperation to a new level.

Today is the first day of the training sessions. According to the schedule, practical and theoretical sessions began, during which participants took part in an introductory lesson, were introduced to the p5.js programming environment and the basics of visual coding using generative artificial intelligence, as well as the Korean concept of Obangssaek. In the afternoon, they created their first practical projects in the form of letter-paintings using Munjado (the art of the Korean alphabet) and Hangul calligraphy combined with generative AI technologies.

200 talented young people are involved in this international program, which will last for two weeks, from August 2 to August 15. The main goal of organizing the project is to teach participants modern IT and AI literacy through p5.js, Processing, Python, and generative AI tools, while also developing intercultural exchange by combining information technology with Korean traditional and contemporary culture. At the end of the program, the participants’ final IT-cultural presentations will be showcased, demonstrating what they have learned over the next two weeks in interactive coding, visualizing K-POP rhythms, and creating practical items based on traditional patterns.
